Michael Yankowski is a Professor of Art and Photography at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. In 2007 he was awarded the Derby Endowed Professorship encouraging personal and professional growth which partially funded his trip to China.

Joanne Yankowski has been a high school Art Teacher for 15 years and is currently a "Master Teacher" for the Natchitoches Public School System.  Michael and Joanne traveled to Beijing, X'ian, Chengdu and Lhasa (Tibet) to create this photographic collection.
